New Restaurant Opening: Cafe Kowloon by 6 of 1

This winter, hospitality group 6 of 1 will unveil its latest restaurant, Cafe Kowloon – a modern Cantonese kitchen bringing the energy and spirit of Hong Kong’s dining culture to East London.

Inspired by the way modern Hong Kong likes to eat and drink – where global influences meet traditional Cantonese dishes – Cafe Kowloon draws on the city’s rich and varied food culture but with a contemporary spin. Taking inspiration from everything from dai pai dong street food vendors to dim sum houses, world-class cocktail spots and restaurants that are renowned for one specific dish, the menu will celebrate the city’s eclectic and evolving culinary scene.

At the front of the site sits Wonton Charlie’s, the 18-seat wonton noodle soup bar – through which guests will pass into Cafe Kowloon. Together, the whole space showcases two distinct aspects of Hong Kong’s food culture – both a traditional, authentic staple and a more modern take on Cantonese cuisine.

6 of 1 is a growing hospitality-focused restaurant group, founded by Frank Yeung and Abhinav Malde. Since opening Mr Bao in Peckham in 2016, the pair have launched a string of acclaimed restaurants including Daddy Bao (2018), Master Bao in Westfield London (2019) and Stratford City (2024), Good Measure (2024) – a cocktail bar and their first move beyond Taiwanese food – and most recently Wonton Charlie’s (November 2025). Cafe Kowloon continues the evolution of the group as it branches into new cuisines and concepts.
