Artisan pastry specialist The Original Baker today proudly announces that its Chilli Jam Pork Pie has been awarded Gold at the prestigious Great Taste Awards 2025, bringing the brand’s remarkable tally of accolades even higher.

A Bold, Eccentric Show-Stopper

The judges are unanimous in their praise. One remarked:

“The pastry is well-prepared with an attractive topping and a firm base. The chilli jam offers a hint of sweetness followed by a satisfying medium chilli kick, with smoky bacon notes adding depth. The meat filling has a good, firm texture and gives up its porky flavours quite easily – this is a well-made pie.”

Another celebrated the pie’s fearless personality, calling it: “extrovert, almost eccentric – and we applaud that.”

At the Farm Shop & Deli Show 2025, the bakery brought home eight medals, including Gold for Chicken, Bacon & Mushroom Pie; Chilli Jam Pork Pie; and Hog Roast Roll, along with Silver and Bronze honours across its bestselling range

Additionally, their Steak & Stilton Pie received a Bronze at the British Pie Awards 2025, reinforcing their position at the top of the pie-making craft
