Brixham’s best fish and chip restaurant reels in funding from NatWest

A leading seafood restaurant and takeaway in the heart of Brixham Marina has successfully secured £422,500 in funding from NatWest to grow its workforce and expand operations.
The funding has enabled the new father and son owners, Cemal and Rushtu Arduc to buy the popular Brixham Fish Restaurant & Takeaway, ensuring its continued operation as a long-standing family-run business for locals and tourists to the area.
Founded in the 1950s, the Torbay restaurant and takeaway is renowned for its traditional fish and chips, boasting the number one spot on TripAdvisor for fish and chips and ranked third for all restaurants in Brixham.
The restaurant prides itself on offering high-quality meals at competitive prices and exclusively works with local suppliers in a bid to support Devon’s economy and increase the freshness of their ingredients.
NatWest’s funding boost has also allowed the family to reopen an unused coffee shop within the restaurant, and offer breakfast services to customers working in the nearby fishing ports – generating an additional year-round income stream.
The restaurant is also creating new job opportunities for delivery drivers to expand their takeaway service in the local area.
Cemal Arduc, father and owner; said: “This loan from NatWest has allowed us to preserve a vital part of the Brixham community. We are excited to expand our services and continue providing excellent food and outstanding value to our customers. Our goal is to remain the top choice for both locals and holidaymakers in the Torbay area.”
Lewis Austin, Relationship Manager at NatWest, commented: “As Britain’s biggest business bank we’re committed to supporting local businesses, customers and communities throughout the South West, and work closely with our customers to understand their needs and help them find solutions to support them as they grow.
We are proud to support Brixham Fish Restaurant & Takeaway in their journey to continue serving the Brixham community and visitors to the ‘English riviera’. This funding will not only help maintain the restaurant’s legacy but also contribute to the growth of the region’s economy by creating jobs and continuing support of local suppliers.”
