PERRO OPENS ITS DOORS ON THURSDAY 3 JULY, BOOKINGS ARE LIVE

Perro, the much-anticipated neighbourhood restaurant and bar from chef Matt Wilden, will officially open on Thursday 3 July 2025; bookings are now live.
Located in Kings Court, Kings Heath Perro will offer a bold take on Mexican-inspired small plates alongside a focused menu of cocktails curated by award-winning bartender Katie Rouse (Couch), natural wines, and a strong creative community ethos.
By day, Perro will serve stacked deli sandos, Vietnamese iced coffees, a trio of house-baked treats, and ever-changing seasonal agua frescas to-go. By night, the venue will transform into a low-key setting for detail-driven dishes rich in the flavours of mole, adobo, and salsa.

Chef Matt Wilden
“This isn’t traditional Mexican food, and it’s not meant to be,” says Wilden. “It’s food built on real respect for the culture and cuisine. We’re not aiming for perfection, we’re aiming to grow, learn, and do it justice in our own way.”
The late-night vibe on Fridays and Saturdays will extend into the evening, with cocktails and snacks served until late.
Wilden sees Perro as more than a restaurant. It’s a space for collaboration and creativity, with a calendar of events planned that brings together voices from Birmingham’s food, music, fashion, and art scenes.
“Perro is a place for people who love making things, sharing ideas, and pushing boundaries,” says Wilden. “It’s about building a space where creativity, on the plate and off, can thrive.”
