Cointreau launches the most sustainable margarita terrace at the Stratford in East London

To celebrate the start of summer, the iconic orange liqueur Cointreau and The Stratford Hotel have collaborated to introduce the most sustainable Margarita terrace, which is set to become East London’s new hot spot. Opening on the 23rd May 2023, the Eco Bar at Terrace E20 will offer an al-fresco drinking experience to enjoy the original Margarita all summer long.

Overlooking Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, moments from Hackney Wick, and situated on the hotel’s ground floor, Terrace E20 is the ideal city escape open seven days a week from 12pm to 11pm. Guests will be able to indulge in pizza made in a wood fired pizza oven, as well as a selection of sharing dishes, sliders and a range of grilled meats and burgers, and weekend bottomless brunches with live music and DJs throughout the summer.

Designed with sustainability in mind, Terrace E20 has been created using recycled wood as well as crafted menus and coasters made from biodegradable materials. The Eco Bar will serve a range of sustainable and refreshing twists on classic cocktails, and in collaboration with ecoSPIRITS Cointreau will ensure a 95 per cent reduction in single use packaging waste (including glass and cardboard). This will support Remy-Cointreau’s goal of reducing their Greenhouse Gas emissions (GHG) by 50 per cent per bottle by 2030.

Cointreau’s Eco Bar will provide twists on the Original Margarita as well as frozen varieties, to ensure everyone stays cool in the city. Created using award-winning ecoTOTETM circular packaging technology pioneered by Cointreau, Mount Gay Rum and Los Arcos Tequila, the new sustainable menu will offer a range of refreshing drinks. Served up or on the rocks are The Classic with Cointreau, Los Arcos and lime, The Tommy’s with Cointreau, Los Arcos, lime and agave, The Mezcal with Cointreau, Illegal Joven, lime and agave, The Spicy with Cointreau, Los Arcos, house chilli blend, lime and agave and The Clear with Cointreau, Los Arcos, citric acid and agave. Frozen cocktails include The Watermelon with Cointreau, Los Arcos, lime and watermelon and The Passionfruit with Cointreau, Los Arcos, lime, passionfruit and vanilla. 

Signature summer serves will also be available, from Bee Positive with Avalen Calvados, Cointreau, apple juice and lime, to Big Leaf Punch with Mount Gay Rum, Cointreau, Orgeat, house tropical punch and lime to So Long, Farewell with Rémy Martin VSOP Cognac, Martini Rubio, oolong tea Syrup and lime and finally the Botanical Spritz with The Botanist Gin, jasmine tea syrup, Noilly Prat, and lemonade. 

Customers can also workout whilst enjoying the sunshine with “pedal for margarita” blender static bikes, which offer a fun activity to try out with friends. With al-fresco drinking and dining, and the location’s live music, this terrace guarantees a summer of fun, whilst caring for the planet.
