Set to open in July, Salt is an all-day dining destination that combines the beauty of its waterside location with a delectable seasonal menu. The restaurant will cater to guests looking to refuel between activities or simply relax in the sun with a refreshing drink and a bite to eat. Salt’s menu features an enticing selection of locally sourced dishes to satisfy every craving, including seasonal fish fresh out of Portland Bay, festival-inspired burgers and luxury hot dogs, and pizzas from the mobile woodfired pizza pop-up, the Pizza Cutter.
Portland has earned its reputation as the ultimate “Après-Sea” destination. Inspired by this allure, Salt aims to recreate the magic of being at sea and infuse it into every aspect of its offering. Among the signature burgers on offer, guests can indulge in the Chicken katsu burger, a breaded chicken breast topped with katsu curry sauce, the Salt burger, a mouth-watering beef burger loaded with bacon, a choice of cheese, and savoury sauces, or indulge in the Meat-free madness burger, a plant-based delight with dill pickle, crispy onions, vegan cheese, and homemade tomato relish.
On weekends, Salt will open the hatch of its pop-up pizza truck, the Pizza Cutter, ready to serve up a delicious range of al fresco wood-fired pizzas. And on weekdays, visitors can still enjoy a slice of pizza from the kitchen at Salt, which will be offering a full selection of pizzas.
