Farmacy, the pioneering plant-based restaurant, is delighted to announce a week-long East Asian-inspired takeover in partnership with Barcelona’s acclaimed vegan sushi restaurant, Roots & Rolls, and Clearspring, suppliers of Japanese and organic fine foods.
Launching in late June, Farmacy will kick off the collaboration with two supper clubs on Tuesday 27th of June, serving up a tasting menu of all dishes that will then be available on the restaurant’s limited edition menu from Wednesday 28th June until Sunday 2nd July.
Roots & Rolls has cemented itself within Barcelona’s competitive restaurant scene and has been a trailblazer in vegan cuisine within the city. Combining East Asian flavours with the infinite world of vegetables and spices, Roots & Rolls’ signature sushi dishes sit alongside salads, ramen and baos, with each dish using a unique combination of healthy ingredients, whilst keeping the environment in mind.
Guests will sit down to an intimate supper club style event in Farmacy’s candlelit private dining room with an East Asian inspired tasting menu and welcome Apple & Yuzu Martini with apple vodka, yuzu, fresh apple juice, xylitol, set to ignite the senses. The Roots & Rolls supper club tasting menu will allow guests to taste their way through the entire limited edition menu including; Farmacy’s Signature Kimchi, Shitake Mushroom Gyozas served alongside Roots & Rolls’ sweet dashi sauce, Ceviche with King oyster mushrooms, avocado, cherry tomatoes, pickled red onion, toasted corn, coriander and homemade tiger milk, as well as a selection of Nigiri and Sushi Rolls, such as the Emerald Roll with vegan caviar, wakame, sugar snap peas, cucumber, cream cheese and pak choi wrapped in black quinoa rice topped with wasabi sesame and yuzu miso. The menu culminates with Farmacy’s Matcha Mille Crêpe.
In addition to the supper club, an à la carte variation of the tasting menu will be available from Wednesday 28th – Sunday 2nd July. Featuring a selection of Roots & Rolls’ most popular sushi dishes from the Geisha Roll – avocado maki with gluten-free panko, heüra tartare, fermented chilli sauce and chives wrapped in black quinoa rice to a Nigiri selection of Crispy King Oyster Mushroom with chimichurri on black quinoa rice and Vegan Caviar with pear tomato, sun-dried tomatoes, aioli, basil and black quinoa rice.
In tandem with Farmacy’s 100% organic, plant-based menu, the collaboration will offer diners a truly unique menu that showcases a natural and simple approach to eating locally and seasonally, with an East Asian twist. Organically and biodynamically prepared between the soil and the sun, each element of every recipe will connect diners back to a conscious way of eating, just as nature intended.
