Neil Rankin + Acme Fire Cult Friday 2nd September 2022

Chef Andrew Clarke and his team at live fire hotspot, Acme Fire Cult at 40FT Brewery in Dalston, are excited to announce that on Friday 2nd September, they will host their friend and fellow chef Neil Rankin for a one-off BBQ, inspired by their joint passion for vibrant seasonal summer vegetables.

For one night only, the BBQ heavyweights will showcase a menu that celebrates quality local produce in the form of Symplicity Foods, including the first public tasting of their new 3 month barrel aged plant-based products using their own marrowfat pea and pearl barley miso and seasonal summer veg from reputable local suppliers. Carnivores need not worry though, as sustainable quality cuts from regenerative farms such as Lyon Hill Farm and Swaledale Butchers and dayboat fish from sustainable suppliers such as Fin & Flounder and Bethnal Green Fish, will remain on offer – just pimped up with complimenting grilled greens.

The menu, which will see inspiration pulled from around the globe, has been designed for sharing and will feature dishes such as, Dan Dan Spring Greens with Grilled Cucumber & Chilli Ramen Broth and their Symplicity 3-Month Aged Patty Doner Kebab from Neil Rankin and Chargrilled Leeks & Pistachio Romesco, Fermented Butternut Squash Hummus & Macadamia and Crab & Bone Marrow Toast with Salted Cabbage and Jalapeno Verde from Acme Fire Cult – all cooked over flames on the cult’s superior custom-made grill, with prices ranging from £3 – £25.

Drinks will come courtesy of 40FT Brewery, with a uniquely refreshing beer brewed especially for the evening using Symplicity’s all-natural umami-rich tomato water, a natural by-product from Symplicitity’s fermentation process. This beer will be on tap along with other 40FT beers including Acme Dark Lager, a 4.8% schwarzbier and 40FT’s core range Disco Pils 4.8% and Dalston Sunrise 4.4%.

The restaurant is situated opposite the 40FT Brewery tap room, seating 50 covers inside and 60 outside on the covered and heated terrace. Proudly boasting a large custom grill and smoker stand in the covered yard, the venue serves Acme Fire Cult flavours whatever the weather. Inside, the space is pared back and dark with industrial elements with a bar that seats six, behind which pickles and ferments line the walls.
