First look: Roberta’s opens in Glasgow

As they prepare to open their doors today, Roberta’s – a fashionable new Glasgow restaurant and bar offers a first glimpse inside.

Far from your typical ristorante, Roberta’s Glasgow confidently takes unfussy, authentic Italian cooking and brings it to life in new uber stylish city centre surroundings.

The venue’s beacon is Roberta’s Neapolitan pizzas, which are baked in a handmade blistering-hot wood fired oven, while traditional pasta dishes are both fun and nostalgic. A hint of New York style and substance is brought to Glasgow City Centre by grill-inspired meats and seafood, sumptuous Italian desserts, and a modern yet refined cocktail bar.

Dishes on the menu include starters of Carciofi Grigliati – Grilled Fresh Artichokes, Almond Cream, Orange Oil, Black Olives; Ostriche Scozzesi Fresche – Fresh Loch Fyne Oysters; Calamari Fritti – Fresh Deep Fried Squid, Squid Ink Aioli and Burrata – Cherry Tomato, Balsamic, Rocket. Mains include Sogliola Di Dover Intera Arrostita – Whole roasted dover sole; Filetto di manzo – Grilled Fillet Steak and Poulet Organico alla pesto – Oven Roasted Organic Baby Chicken, Pesto, Hazelnut. 

Pasta dishes include Linguine Vongole – Fresh Clam, Fresh Tomato, Garlic; Pappardelle Ragu – Slow Cooked Reef, Red Wine, Tomato Sauce and Rigatoni alla Roberta’s -Wild Mushrooms, Black Truffle, Grana Padan. Robertas’ Neapolitan Pizza include Diavola – Tomato Sauce, Salame Napoli,Chilli Flakes, Mozzarella, Parmesan, Basil, Evoo; Capricciosa – Tomato Sauce, Ham, Mushrooms, Artichokes, Black Olives, Mozzarella, Parmesan, Basil, Evoo and Peperonata – Sausages, Mixed Peppers, Mozzarella, Parmesan, Basil, Evoo. 

A large wine list featuring legendary Italian labels as well as interesting new names will also complement the restaurant’s focus on the Italian lifestyle and cuisine. Cocktails on the menu include the classics such as Aperol Spritz, Negroni and Espresso Martini as well as speciality created Mediterranean inspired cocktails. 

Interior design elements in the old Victorian bank building on the corner of St Vincent Street and Hope Street include a teal and gold colour palette, marble, rich warm woods and leather finishes, and a lively, upbeat atmosphere. A range of tables, from intimate tables of two through to the restaurant’s generous window booths with seating for up to eight, cater for a wide range of dining requirements as well as a stunning private dining area that can seat up to eighteen guests. The long-bar at Roberta’s is set to attract an eclectic crowd of young urbanites downing good old-fashioned cocktails by the bucket.

Roberta’s is open daily for lunch and dinner set within a stunning 100 plus cover space that manages to feel very intimate, spread across the bar, main dining room and private dining.

Roberta’s Glasgow is located at 140 St Vincent Street Glasgow, G2 5LA and bookings are now open. Open daily from 12pm – late,  walk-ins are welcome at all times and customers are advised to book in advance to avoid disappointment.
