Coal Rooms reopen with Chef’s Tasting Menu
Rather than ease slowly back into reopening their restaurant, Coal Rooms has decided to do it in style. From Thursday 16th July, the restaurant will be open Thursday to Saturday evenings with a special 5 course Chef’s Tasting Menu, created by Head Chef Adrian Hernandez Farina (most recently at Temper and Breddos Tacos) with Liam Walker (formerly at The Ritz).
From August the menu will also be available on Wednesday evenings to be eligible for the Eat Out to Help Out scheme.
Originally from New York, Adrian has worked in some of London’s top restaurants including Hawksmoor, Smokestak and Chiltern Firehouse. Joining the Coal Rooms team at the end of last year, he brings dishes that stay true to the restaurant’s origins based around their bespoke charcoal grill and oven – with his own twist.
Expect dishes such as Fig Leaf, Sea Bass Tartare, Fig Oil, Pickled Shallots, Jalapeno Granita; 58 Aged Ex Dairy Rump, Mushroom XO, Celeriac, Confit Onion; Ember Roasted Beetroot, Ajo Blanco Foam, Hazelnut Oil, Black Garlic, Nasturtium; and Langoustine Lollipop, Guanciale, Lobster Mayo. (£48 per head or £38 for the vegetarian option).
Based in Peckham, Coal Rooms is located in a former ticket office for the railway station and is renowned for its top quality meat and fish cooked over their bespoke charcoal grill, as well as their Sunday roasts!
Notes
Bookings are now open for 2 sittings every evening (Thursday-Saturday, 6:30pm and 8:30pm). From August, the restaurant will also be opening on Wednesdays to take part in the Eat Out to Help Out scheme.
According to the latest guidelines, the restaurant will be operating at a reduced capacity so tables are limited, and there will be the highest hygiene measures in place.
