New look Amarone restaurant opens its doors in Aberdeen
Ready for a slice of cosmopolitan Italy?
Amarone has today re-opened its doors in Aberdeen with all the buzz of a restaurant in central Milan.
As well as modern Italian food, the restaurant has added a new luxury cocktail bar to the re-designed restaurant on Union Street.
The opulent central island tubular brass cocktail bar offers a new welcome for Amarone diners who can sip cocktails in a stylish, upscale bar before enjoying contemporary Italian dining. Flanked by intimate booths, the bar space seamlessly blends the traditional with the contemporary.
The 300 square metre restaurant has been redesigned to incorporate the new cocktail bar and can accommodate up to 200 diners, with two areas for private dining – including the “Primo Piano” mezzanine complete with its own separate bar.
Due to a fire in November 2018 which devastated the original restaurant, the incident was turned into opportunity and the decision was taken to mount a full-scale refurbishment of the Granite City unit.
New design concepts featured include stunning glazed tile walls in a vibrant green that pop out against a more muted colour palette of rich burgundy and softer sage greens. Elegant deep booths for dining and an open pizza kitchen surrounded by vibrant green glazed tiles has also been introduced.
Guests can enjoy crisp pizza straight from the central oven, freshly made pasta filled with classic Italian combinations and mouth-watering, thirst-quenching cocktails.
Amarone restaurant is part of the DRG portfolio, who have more than 20 restaurants across Scotland.
–Tony Conetta and Mario Gizzi of DRG Group-
Mario Gizzi of DRG commented:
“It was a difficult decision to close the restaurant, but we felt that instead of doing a quick tidy up to repair damage, we had the opportunity to remodel the restaurant to offer a world class Italian eating and drinking experience in the Granite City.
“The designs are stunning, taking inspiration from the finest central cocktail bars in the world. With construction now finished, we are delighted to be re-opening this week as well as taking reservations for festive dining and a special New Year Gala dinner.”
The re-opening of Amarone in Aberdeen has created a number
of new part-time and full-time roles in the business bringing the total number
of employees to 46.
