Launching officially on Wednesday 6 November, TOKii will be a new dining destination in Marylebone, centrally located on Great Cumberland Place. Housed within the newly opened The Prince Akatoki London hotel, TOKii will serve a vibrant main menu focused on sushi, sashimi, seafood and dishes from the Robata grill.
TOKii’s colourful menu using fresh and international ingredients is designed to bring the best of Eastern and Western flavours, with Japan at the forefront. The dishes will be small and designed to be shared at the centre of the table, beautifully presented to elevate every guest’s experience.
Highlights will include Scallop ceviche with orange, spring onions, chilli and sesame and Kinoko, mushrooms and crispy yuba from the Cold Dishes section and Hot Dishes of Black cod with miso glaze and Ox cheek croquettes, panko and wasabi mayo. The Robata will serve grills including Japanese grade A5 wagyu beef with spicy ponzu and Lobster with shichimi and yuzu butter. There will be a full menu of Nigiri, Sashimi and Sushi Roll options, mixed Skewers (meat, fish and vegetable), and fried Tempura.
The restaurant will also be open for breakfast, with the nutritious Akatoki Breakfast comprised of traditional Japanese serves including a tamago omelette, miso soup, plain steamed rice, grilled salmon and vegetables. A classic TOKii Breakfast of eggs, bacon, sausage, tomato and mushrooms will also be available alongside breakfast staples.
The minimalist decor at TOKii will feature a liquid metal wall mural inspired by the ocean, dark timber joinery, blackened cladding and timber screening, dividing the space. Guests can dine on Japanese-inspired banquettes and traditional seating or, for those looking for a more authentic experience, choose the sushi counter with its Basalt brick front and concrete countertop.
The Prince Akatoki London opened its doors at the end of September. Inspired by the traditions of Japanese hospitality, the minimalist property fuses the best of Japan with the western world, promoting mindfulness and tranquility at every touchpoint. The 82 bedrooms and suites showcase a classic Asian sensibility with a Scandinavian design aesthetic; Akatoki being an old Japanese expression meaning sunrise or dawn. Tokii is the hotel’s destination restaurant whilst the intimate The Malt Lounge & Bar will be open for afternoon tea and late-night cocktails (launching Wednesday 6 November). The hotel also offers a premium well-equipped gym.
