Pretty Boy Tacos Launches First East London Residency with Little Fires

East London is getting a new taco fix as London based, award winning duo, Pretty Boy Tacos take over the kitchen at Mezcal Bar and hi-fi lounge Little Fires, having begun their residency on Friday 2nd October, bringing their flavour packed take on tacos to the neighbourhood.

Founded by two chefs and best friends with over a decade of experience in hospitality, Pretty Boy Tacos has built a reputation for inventive flavour combinations, quality ingredients and a playful approach to Mexican inspired food. The pair’s love affair with Mexican food began after travelling through Mexico, where they fell for the food, culture and people inspiring them to create a taco concept of their own.

In Shoreditch, the menu at Little Fires puts Pretty Boy Tacos’ approach firmly front and centre, with tacos as the star of the show, featuring slow cooked Mole Mutton, combining spiced chimichurri, pickled red onion, crispy shallots and mango & habanero, crispy Baja Fish, topped with chipotle mayo, pickled cabbage slaw and jalapeños, smoky, tangy Achiote Grilled Chicken, with spring onion, sweet onion and pineapple salsa verde, and Cochinita Pibil, a traditional Yucatec Mayan slow roasted pork served with habanero, pickled red onion and coriander.

Beyond tacos, the menu also features a line up of Mexican inspired small and large plates, including Prawn Ceviche with lime, coriander and red onion, Seared Scallop Aguachile with chorizo oil and tomatillos, Chile Relleno stuffed with adobo minced beef and cheese, and Carne Asada using grass-fed aged onglet with grilled onions, cabbage, tortillas and mole ketchup.

The food is matched by Little Fires’ agave led drinks offering, with Margaritas, Palomas, tequila and mezcal cocktails, alongside a selection of mezcal flights. Highlights include the Mango Unchained, with passion fruit purée, mango brine, tequila, Ancho Reyes and lime, and the Añejo y Ploma, Little Fires’ take on an Old Fashioned using añejo tequila, joven mezcal and house bitters.

At Little Fires, the Pretty Boy Tacos residency combines their energy with an open kitchen setting and Little Fires’ deep agave offering upstairs, while downstairs, The Listening Lounge runs late into the night.

With tacos as their canvas, Pretty Boy Tacos combines classic techniques with unexpected flavours to create food that brings people together to celebrate. Born in London but built to travel, the duo have already taken their food to Amsterdam, Lisbon, Bali and New York, alongside across the capital and now in East London.

Pretty Boy Tacos is in residence at Little Fires until January 2027, having begun on 2nd October.
