Splendid Hospitality Group (SHG) business leaders and volunteers from across its restaurants division were on hand in Birmingham to unpack donations fulfil orders and tidy up a warehouse to support cashforkids Mission Christmas.

The charity provides toys and gifts to children who need them the most. Splendid’s 38 KFC restaurant team members in the Midlands and the north-east have also helped the charity raise over £200,000 so far in 2024.

Splendid Colonel Restaurants Managing Director Ben Clayton, Chief Financial Officer Deshan Karunaratne and twenty team members volunteered for the day at the Birmingham warehouse depot, with further sorting days taking place in the coming weeks.

Ben Clayton, Managing Director at Splendid Restaurants said: “Five years ago my amazing colleague Sarah Jones proposed collaborating with cashforkids. Our KFC franchise business has grown its involvement every year through her zeal and the team’s dedication to help such an incredible charity”.

Stephanie Simpson, Regional Charity Director at cashforkids, said: “Splendid’s support for cashforkids in both the Midlands and north-east has been phenomenal! Their staff have given their time freely, with passion and purpose. Together we are making great things happen which supports thousands of children.”

Over the past 15 years, cashforkids has raised over a quarter of a billion pounds, directly impacting nearly 8 million young lives.

In 2023 alone, their Mission Christmas campaign raised more than £23.7 million, providing vital support to 579,376 children and young people across the UK.
