The Greenhouse Restaurant at Wadswick Green Transformed with Total Refurbishment

At Wadswick Green, the contemporary lifestyle village for the over-60s in Corsham, the Greenhouse Restaurant has undergone a total refurbishment that incorporated a zero waste initiative.
The refurbishment was carried out in full consultation with the owners and the wider Wadswick Green community. Park Grove Design, who were responsible for the redesign and refit, incorporated all the owners feedback when submitting their new design with regards to the stunning new colour palette.
The refurbishment will be a huge benefit to owners at Wadswick Green and customers from the local community alike who regularly visit the restaurant for some comforting culinary.
Leon Sheppard, Head Chef of The Greenhouse, is passionate about creating hearty British dishes with a modern twist and is keen on drawing upon the region’s bounty of seasonal, fresh produce while creating the menus. Leon took the helm at The Greenhouse Restaurant in October 2022 joining from Corsham’s highly rated 5-star hotel, The Methuen. The evolving menus are engineered to showcase local produce, from Wiltshire suppliers, and the best of what the season can offer, yet also ensuring that all tastes and preferences are tended to.
Speaking about the project, Keith Turnbull, Village Manager at Wadswick Green said: “The brief set out to incorporate The Greenhouse’s picturesque and natural setting within the village’s 25 acres of beautiful, landscaped gardens.
“We also wanted the design to reflect our zero food miles carbon footprint. The kitchen garden produce that Chris Liversidge, Head of Landscaping and his team grow, goes straight from field to plate and is used in the fresh and seasonal dishes.
“The exciting design brings new life to the village, the owners are absolutely delighted with how it’s all turned out, it’s proving very popular already. The Greenhouse is the most perfect hub for our evolving community. I’m delighted the new photos are ready to be shared so everyone can see the fantastic interiors.”
As part the villages ESG policy, Wadswick Green was very keen to recycle any original furniture and accessories to a good home.
A combination of Wadswick Green owners, their families and friends made requests to rehouse the furniture, all that was asked in return, was that they made a small donation to the Dorothy Hospice – a local charity close the village’s heart. In addition, Keith also gave away furniture on Facebook Marketplace, so that the local community could also benefit. These included people starting up new homes, some upcycling projects and even a new start up café near Bath.
The Greenhouse offers a contemporary yet comfortable dining experience with picturesque surroundings, perfectly viewable from the large floor to ceiling windows where diners get to eat surrounded by lush foliage and verdant greenery. The restaurant offers guests a dining experience in a chic and laid-back setting, whilst the focal bar displays the extensive drink selections available and continues to attract wine enthusiasts.
