Karma Kitchen, the commercial production kitchen operator, has announced over 300% growth to the business in 2023. This has come through the completion of three new sites, alongside new brand partnerships, senior hires, and the creation of a new financial product – Karma Credit – that delivers much-needed capital for hospitality businesses.

Since the start of the year, Karma Kitchen has fully launched sites in Bermondsey and Sydenham, more than trebling the total number of kitchen units in operation. When the sixth site, in south-west London, launches in the New Year, Karma Kitchen will have more than quadrupled in size in just 12 months.

In line with operational expansion, Karma Kitchen has also created a unique lending product, designed to make kitchen set-up and scalability as easy as possible for the hospitality businesses that take their space. Karma Credit is available across all sites, helping kitchen tenants spread initial capital expenditure over a longer period of time. Partnerships with Deliverect and Marketman, to provide a more integrated experience and establish margins and profitability, have added to the support package on offer for Karma Kitchen tenants.

To help grow Karma Kitchen further, Wendy Elzinga – formerly of Hungry House and Ola – was hired as Head of Operations, while Harriet Johns joined as a Financial Analyst.

This news follows the recent launch of Lower Sydenham, Karma Kitchen’s fifth site, adding to the four existing spaces across the capital, at Bermondsey, Wood Green, Hackney, and London Fields. As well as a commitment to support emerging and expanding catering businesses, Karma Kitchen has also set out how it will achieve Net Zero by 2030, using building practices focused on embodied carbon and renewable energy, and ensuring food waste is biodigested and oil turned to biofuel.
