Pizza Pilgrims have announced their latest pizzeria in London’s Queen’s Park is set to open Alongside the well-loved pizzeria, Pizza Pilgrims will be opening a brand-new deli concept selling exceptional Italian produce and dry store goods.
The Queen’s Park site has been renovated with the neighbourhood in mind; from freshly roasted Neapolitan espressos and bread baked in-store by expert pizzaioli in the mornings to child-friendly dining options and late evening aperitivo. Pizza Pilgrims Queen’s Park will serve as a neighbourhood hub for all.
Pizza Pilgrims will be welcoming in their new locals ahead of the opening with their Slice Day giveaway, handing out 1000 free slices on Saturday 1st July.
Pizza lovers will enter straight into a bright main dining area with a purpose-built Pavesi pizza oven at its centre next to an open-plan kitchen, which allows guests to watch the pizzaioli at work. The 50-cover space is reminiscent of a traditional trattoria, decorated with solely reclaimed furniture whilst a dedicated deli and store will reflect the Pilgrims’ meticulously selected supply chain showcasing the quality ingredients used throughout their menu. From the best ’00’ flour Naples has to offer from the famous Caputo mill in the city centre to their Bufala Mozzarella from Italian supplier Giovanni from Latteria Sorretina discovered on their first pilgrimage and their house-made ‘La Bomba’ Chilli Oil.
Pizza Pilgrims also work closely with Harvest London, the sustainability-focused hydroponic vertical farming supplier that works closely with the team to grow fresh Basil for every pizzeria, reducing wastage (and air miles) dramatically.
At its core, as with all Pizza Pilgrims’ sites, are their authentic, slow-proved Neapolitan pizzas which stem from the recipe created by founders James and Thom Elliot, following their first ‘pizza pilgrimage’ around Italy 12 years ago. The menu features classics like the Margherita – Mozzarella fior di latte, tomato, basil & olive oil and Salsiccia e Friarielli – Roasted Italian sausage and wild broccoletti on an olive oil base with smoked mozzarella & fresh chilli, but also includes pizzas with a twist such as their Double Pepperoni & Spicy Honey, Mushroom & Truffle or 8-cheese, yes 8-cheese! Monthly guest pizzas also feature on the menu.
Pizza Pilgrims scrupulous approach to dough is key to the airy crust, slow-proved overnight for extra flavour. This new site will boast a dough window where passers-by can watch the kneading, shaping and finessing of their pizza. As with all sites, a gluten free dough is available with all pizzas and for budding piazzioli, fresh dough is available to buy for use in at-home pizza ovens.
