The Savoy partners with Nyetimber, the finest English Sparkling Wine to mark this momentous occasion. As Britain’s first luxury hotel, The Savoy has marked some of the most important events in British History over the past century, including three coronations. This May, to celebrate The Coronation Of His Majesty The King, the hotel will commemorate the momentous occasion in true Savoy style, with a breath-taking floral installation, a Nyetimber Bus, and a Street Party like no other, with tables laden with cakes and savoury treats lining the famous forecourt and a coupe fountain flowing with Nyetimber English Sparkling Wine.

For one month, from the 1st May, The Savoy will offer its own visual crowning glory to hotel guests, visitors and passersby on the Strand. The hotel’s world-famous sign will be bedecked with the official Coronation crown, while the Lalique fountain will be decorated with flowers and limited-edition bottles of Nyetimber. Walking through the revolving doors of The Savoy, guests will be transported into a spectacular English garden that weaves through into the Thames Foyer. Spring flowers with purple accents will be complemented by eye-catching gold crown installations. Beautiful wisteria, HM King Charles III’s favourite flower, will adorn the walls and entwine the famous birdcage centrepiece in the Thames foyer, where guests can enjoy a special Royal Afternoon Tea.

For the Coronation Weekend, from Friday 5th to Sunday 7th May, Nyetimber’s famous 1968 Routemaster Bus will be stationed on Savoy Court, ensuring there is plenty of the finest English Sparkling Wine to toast the Coronation. Throughout the weekend, guests can book an exclusive tasting on the top deck of the bus to sample three of Nyetimber’s renowned English Sparkling Wines, guided by a Nyetimber Brand Ambassador and perfectly paired with sweet treats created by The Savoy’s talented pastry team.

On the day of the Coronation itself, the hotel will celebrate with The Savoy Street Party where long tables will stretch across the Savoy’s forecourt on the Strand. Guests will enjoy a British selection of delicate finger sandwiches and exquisitely crafted cakes, including British rhubarb and vanilla custard tartlet, Coronation lemon drizzle cake, Royal Battenberg, and, of course, a royal Victoria sponge cake. The feast will be paired with Nyetimber’s Classic Cuvee MV and Rosé MV, as well as JING Pearls Sparkling Tea. Throughout the street party, entertainment will be provided by the dapper gentleman of acoustic roaming band, The Travelling Hands.
