One of Edinburgh’s most stylish bars and restaurants, Superico, has been crowned the top ‘Bar, Club & Lounge’ at the prestigious 17th annual Hospitality Design Awards in New York.
Superico Bar & Lounge, located on Hanover Street, was the only venue outside of the US to be shortlisted and announced as winner at the ceremony.
The annual Hospitality Design Awards recognise and celebrate the year’s best and most innovative achievements in both project and product design from around the globe.
Superico has been shaking up the Edinburgh scene since it opened, having been transformed into a Chilean-inspired, sun-drenched party palace by top Edinburgh-based design studio, JA!COCO!
The venue is situated in a 19th Century Georgian former banking hall and resembles a Tamara de Lempicka painting, with art-deco style shapes and jewel-like colours like turquoise and bright yellow. It is complete with huge globe feature light, reminiscent of a full moon.
Led by Mike Lynch, multi-award-winning mixologist and hospitality manager from Edinburgh, foodies, cocktail lovers, and style gurus flock to Superico for a casual, but sophisticated venue to relax and socialise in the heart of the New Town.
Commenting on the award, Mike said:
“This is a huge achievement for the whole team at Superico and we are all absolutely delighted.
“We consider ourselves really lucky to have a stylish and beautiful venue where guests can enjoy some showstopping cocktails and bar snacks in a relaxed and sophisticated lounge bar setting.
“From the beginning, our ambition has been to quickly establish Superico as Edinburgh’s best design-led cocktail bar and attract global recognition. From here, it’s onwards and upwards.”
