British Cooking at its finest: Chefs Tom Aikens & Nigel Mendham collaborate on The Norfolk Boys menu this July, a taste of Norfolk in the heart of Mayfair

Award-winning chefs cook up a storm for one-off dinner at GBR, DUKES LONDON
Mayfair hotel, DUKES LONDON, is delighted to announce a one-off gastronomic evening on Tuesday 9th July at the hotel’s signature restaurant, GBR. Inspired by their joint Norfolk heritage and fond memories of summers spent on the north Norfolk coast, longstanding Executive Head Chef, Nigel Mendham, will join forces with celebrity Michelin-star chef, Tom Aikens to create a one-off, six-course Norfolk Boys tasting menu. Using local produce from their trusted Norfolk suppliers including Nurtured in Norfolk, they will draw on memories of sandy beaches, clam-picking and crabbing. Priced at £125 per person, a donation from each ticket sold will go to one of DUKES LONDON’s favourite charities – Hospitality Action – which offers vital assistance to those who have worked within hospitality in the UK and who find themselves in crisis.
On 9th July guests will have the opportunity to meet both chefs and hear why they felt inspired to showcase the very best of Norfolk produce. For those who miss out on tickets, selected dishes from The Norfolk Boys menu will be available at GBR throughout the summer.
Hailed as one of Britain’s most creative chefs, Tom Aikens climbed rapidly to success in his culinary career, becoming the youngest chef to win two Michelin stars aged only 26. Tom’s food continues to emphasise sustainable, high-quality British ingredients executed with imaginative, technical flair, which aligns perfectly with Chef Nigel’s approach to food.
At GBR, former Michelin star holder, Nigel Mendham, delivers refined British cooking; since his appointment at DUKES LONDON in 2011, Nigel has made his mark on the competitive London dining scene, attracting critical acclaim.

The Norfolk Boys evening with Chefs Tom Aikens and Nigel Mendham takes place on Tuesday 9th July 2019, from 7pm. Tickets are priced at £125 per person and include a welcome drink upon arrival, a six-course tasting menu, and wine pairing with DUKES LONDON’s Royal Warrant partner, Justerini & Brooks.
