COSMO Authentic World Kitchen glows with pride as it scoops two titles at the Golden Chopsticks Awards
Global banqueting restaurant group COSMO Authentic World Kitchen has spoken of its pride and gratitude after it beat off a host of top names to pick up two titles at the prestigious Golden Chopsticks Awards last night.
COSMO won both the Best Restaurant Chain Award and the Founders’ Business Achievement Award at the final of the event, which was held to celebrate the contribution of Oriental cuisines to the UK’s catering industry and took place at Mayfair in London.
The award winners are chosen on a number of different criteria, with the Best Restaurant Chain decided by a public vote. The Founders Business Achievement Award was decided by the Golden Chopsticks Awards founders, TV fashion celebrity Gok Wan, SeeWoo Group MD Lucy Mitchell and food and drink PR guru Sarah Lewis.
COSMO set new standards of interior design, customer care and food quality when it opened its first restaurant in 2003 and it currently operates 18 outlets across the UK and in the Republic of Ireland.
Kan Koo, commercial director of COSMO, said that the group was delighted to have been endorsed by both the industry and the public and paid tribute to its staff for their part in its success.
He said: “Although our buffets offer food from around the world, Oriental cuisine is a hugely important part of our offering and so we are proud and extremely grateful that it has been recognised with these awards.
“The buffet dining sector is an extremely competitive sector and to thrive in it requires a combination of innovation, quality and a huge amount of hard work. We are extremely grateful to our wonderfully dedicated staff for their contribution in maintaining the high standards that COSMO has become renowned for.
“It is extremely flattering to have been recognised by the award founders but perhaps the most gratifying aspect of last night is that we won the Best Restaurant Chain award, proving that we are still Number One in the eye of the most important people of all – our customers.”
The Golden Chopsticks awards follow other award success for COSMO, whose Derby restaurant picked up the titles of Buffet Restaurant of the Year and Best Oriental Establishment in the Midlands at the Food Awards England last year.
