Cake For Breakfast: YOLO Now Open in Covent Garden

From cakes to crodoughs and vegan shakes to gluten-free bakes; a new dessert-only bar is now open in the heart of central London.

Londoners hankering for sweet treats all-day long need look no further than YOLO, a new dessert-only bar specialising in homemade delights and plant-based treats, alongside vintage vinyl from RockPopRecords Everything is baked fresh every morning, using only the best and freshest ingredients available. No nasties or food colourings, just traditional baking techniques to create great tasting cakes, brownies and muffins as well as their signature shakes.

Already a hit with the cake loving crowd Stateside, the Crodough is a croissant/doughnut hybrid, which features layers upon layers of buttery pastry, fried and finished with a range of toppings. At YOLO the crodough fillings are endless, and guests can pick from a range of flavours including chocolate, peanut butter and strawberry. Mini versions are also available, too.

For more classic cakes, the menu also features popular bakes like banana loaf, carrot cake, the heavenly triple chocolate cake, and award-winning Pastel de nata. For a rift on the Portuguese favourite, the raspberry Pastel de nata is not to be missed.

Special diets have been catered for with a wide range of gluten-free cakes available to takeaway or eat in. Guests can choose from gluten-free polenta cake, and salted caramel and peanut butter brownie, while vegans can go wild for the plant-based peanut butter blondie.

For liquid refreshment, the drinks list features coffees, loose-leaf teas and YOLO’s epic shakes. Try the likes of the Oreo Cheesecake (vanilla ice cream, cream cheese, milk and Oreo), Brownie Batch (Brownie, vanilla ice cream, peanut butter, milk), and ultimate afternoon pick me up, Salted Caramel Coffee Shake (salted caramel syrup, coffee and milk). And, of course, a vegan shake is available (peanut butter, banana, vegan yogurt, almond milk and agave syrup).

Whether diners are looking for a quick pit-stop, a leisurely afternoon sit down, or a slice to takeaway, head down to YOLO for some of the best cakes in town.
