THE DOUBLE RED DUKE COMES TO BICESTER VILLAGE

This November, Country Creatures is delighted to announce the opening of The Double Red Duke at Bicester Village, from Sam and Georgie Pearman, joining their much-loved family of hotels, restaurants and inns, known for their warmth, craft and culinary soul.
Set in the natural beauty of the Cotswolds, the original Double Red Duke is a 17th-century coaching inn beautifully reimagined as a boutique hotel and restaurant. Georgie and Sam will be bringing Clanfield spirit to Bicester Village, complete with their renowned British style, seasonal cooking and hospitality.
The kitchen will be the heart of the space with a menu celebrating cooking over flame and the very best of seasonal British produce. Open from morning to evening, the restaurant will provide a comfortable spot to unwind in-between browsing the Village’s boutiques. Beginning with breakfast, guests can enjoy plates of the classics including The English, and eggs in many ways, as well as the DRD Muffin, with sausage patty, bacon, fried egg & Ogleshield. Then onto the a la carte menu, which the team have curated for guests to either pop in for a quick bite, or for leisurely afternoons between shopping.

Beginning with bar snacks, the menu includes Chipolatas with mustard, Westcombe cheddar toastie with pickled walnut, and the British classic, Sausage roll, alongside starters and small plates of Beef tartare with beef dripping toast, and Wood fire baked scallops with chervil and tarragon butter.
With the mains, the team will be serving up some familiar favourites, including Fish & chips with peas & tartare sauce, and Today’s pies, with mash, greens and gravy. Served straight from the grill will be a selection of meats, each carefully sourced, including Flat iron steak, Veal chop and Rotisserie half chicken, with burnt lemon & garlic mayonnaise.
To finish, in true Double Red Duke style, the team have designed a selection of puddings with indulgence in mind, such as Apple & Blackberry crumble with Neal’s Yard double cream and Sticky toffee pudding with scoops of vanilla ice cream.
To pair alongside, the team will be offering some of their favourite bottles of wine, each selected with The Double Red Duke’s considered menu in mind. Alongside, will be a concise list of classic cocktails, including the Duke Dirty Martini, Gimlet and Whiskey Ginger, as well as an array of beers such as Allsopp’s Best Bitter and Double Diamond, in addition to bottles of English fine cider.
Early next year, The Double Red Duke at Bicester Village will also welcome the arrival of afternoon tea, with a selection of house-made scones, served with clotted cream and jam; cakes, and sandwiches. To pair with the menu, and in the spirit of the tradition, will be an array of carefully selected teas, along with glasses of Oxford-local 100 Hills’ sparkling wines, handpicked by the team.
“We’ve always believed in creating spaces that feel generous, relaxed and beautifully made,” says Sam Pearman. “Opening The Double Red Duke at Bicester Village allows us to bring that same spirit. Good food, good company and a sense of belonging, of course alongside some incredible shopping too.” adds Georgie Pearman.
