Lovisa and Bababoom announce first Islington stores in Angel Central

Angel Central, Islington’s prime retail destination, has announced that Bababoom, the fresh kebab concept, has signed and Lovisa, the affordable jewellery brand, has opened at the centre as it continues to diversify its retail and dining offers.
Lovisa has opened a 711 sq ft unit next to Rituals on the ground floor. This opening marks the next step in the brand’s global expansion plans and joins Angel Central’s diverse range of fashion retailers, such as Accessorize, Mango, and Oliver Bonas. The store showcases a vast range of trendy and affordable pieces, as well as a piercing station.
Bababoom has also chosen Angel Central to mark its first North East London location, alongside Battersea Rise, Camden and Stratford. This will be the centre’s first Mediterranean-inspired cuisine, taking a 2,745 sq ft store located on the first floor next to Wagamama. The vibrant and innovative operator will join a variety of food and beverage options such as Pret, Itsu, and Saint Espresso.
Simon Prince, Asset Manager at CBRE Investment Management, said: “Welcoming brands like Lovisa and Bababoom to Angel Central strengthens our position as a vibrant retail and leisure destination. Lovisa brings affordable, on-trend accessories, while Bababoom adds a different flavour to our dining experience. Together, they enhance the centre’s diverse mix, draw in new visitors and offer something unique for our loyal community.”
Arjun Nagari, Director at Bababoom, added: “Angel Central is embedded in a diverse and exciting community, which perfectly complements our unique and flavourful dishes. We pride ourselves on using the highest quality products, and ensure our customers are at the forefront of everything we do. We draw inspiration from the people and places surrounding us, just like Angel Central, making it a perfect fit for our fourth location.”
Bababoom and Lovisa join Angel Central at an exciting time as it continues to move from strength to strength, with sales up 7.1% year-to-date vs 2024, and footfall up 5.6%. The two brands also join Therapie Clinic, which opened earlier this year. The space delivers a range of facilities such as Laser Hair Removal and advanced skin treatments, and also marks the first Therapie Clinic location to offer fertility services, as significant demand for accessible and affordable services grows within the UK.
