Celebrate World Paella Day at El Pirata of Mayfair : A José Pizarro Special and £1.00 Paella Lunches

Tucked away on a quiet Mayfair street, just off Park Lane, El Pirata has been serving authentic, unpretentious, affordable, Spanish cuisine from the heart of Mayfair for 31 years.
Widely regarded as one of London’s best tapas restaurants, this September, the local favourite is celebrating World Paella Day with an unbeatable paella for £1.00 offer, as well as an exclusive paella collaboration with one of London’s best Spanish Chef’s, José Pizarro.
From 16th – 19th September between 12:00 – 12:30pm, El Pirata will be serving their authentic Paella Boxes, including José’s special, for just £1.00 as they celebrate the lead up to the World Paella Day (20th September). Londoners will be able to choose from a variety of El Pirata’s top traditional paellas as part of the offer, accompanied by plenty of warm hospitality and authentic charm.
El Pirata is celebrating World Paella Day with an additional exclusive collaboration with renowned Spanish chef and restaurateur, José Pizarro, who has created a limited-edition version of the adored traditional dish. A recipe directly from José himself, the collaboration paella features an inventive blend of succulent, fall-off the bone pork ribs and earthy Scottish girolles, for a comforting twist on Spain’s most iconic dish. The dish will be featured from 9th – 20th September.
Chef José Pizarro, said: “London has a huge Spanish population and the culture – especially the food culture – is very strong. El Pirata and my London restaurants are part of that, and it’s a real pleasure to collaborate: we’re on the same team.”
Jose Rodrigues, long-term patron at El Pirata, said: ‘El Pirata has always been about bringing the true spirit of Spain to Mayfair and we wanted to do something special for our guests this World Paella Day. Whether that’s giving them the chance to enjoy one of our paellas for just £1.00, or partnering with our friend José Pizarro for a new take on the national dish, we’re ready to celebrate!’.
Stepping into El Pirata, guests will feel as though they have been welcomed into a rustic Spanish taverna in Spain and a home away from home. Complete with cosy interiors, the majority of the team at El Pirata have been part of the family for over twenty years, creating a warm, and familiar level of service that is reminiscent of a neighbourhood town in Spain. For those enjoying the lunchtime offer, guests are encouraged to take a seat on the charming street side terrace and enjoy with a refreshing cocktail or glass of sangria, for the true Mediterranean experience.
El Pirata is all about warm hospitality, honest cooking, and fantastic wine and has always been a famous local spot in the heart of Mayfair that transports guests right to the sunny, welcoming streets of Madrid and beyond.
