Ghoulishly Good Afternoon Tea at London Hilton on Park Lane

This autumn, the iconic London Hilton on Park Lane delivers a wickedly delicious Halloween Afternoon Tea served in the stylish surrounds of Podium Restaurant & Bar, which looks out onto prestigious Park Lane.

This frightfully good afternoon tea is expertly crafted by Executive Head Chef Anthony Marshall and Sam Leatherby, Head of Pastry, and winner of television’s Bake Off: The Professionals 2018. The afternoon teas are one of the most popular treats at the hotel, with over 3,000 served in 2021.

Comprising a tantalising mix of sandwiches, scones and pastries, this hauntingly good afternoon tea is the ideal way to celebrate the season in style in Mayfair.

Afternoon tea starts with a selection of perfectly formed finger sandwiches featuring classics on freshly baked brioche, white and brown bread including egg, mayonnaise and mustard cress, coronation chicken, and smoked salmon and horseradish.

Scones are an integral part of Podium’s afternoon teas and warm out of the oven are chocolate chip, plain and raisin varieties accompanied by the finest Cornish clotted cream, homemade strawberry jam and salted caramel spread.

A highlight of the afternoon tea is the selection of seasonally changing pastries and these, along with the scones and fancies, are beautifully presented at each table on a three-tiered stand perfect for showcasing across Instagram. Halloween pastries include:

  • Cassis & Lemon Macaroon
  • Blondie / Rocky Road
  • Basque Cheesecake
  • Fudge & Chocolate Tombstone
  • Pumpkin & Dulcey Choux
  • Dulcey & Caramelised Apple Rice Crispy

Teas are provided by Hope and Glory, who offer only premium, organic speciality teas, sourced solely from ethical growers. Champagne is provided by renowned label Pommery, whose Brut Royal is the perfect crisp accompaniment to the sweet treats. And for those looking for an alcohol-free fizz Bla’s jasmine infused Sparkling Tea will also be served.

Kids can also enjoy their very own menu including a mini tombstone and spooky rocky road which are some of the treats served on a mini picnic bench and accompanied with a drink of their choice including strawberry or vanilla milkshake as well as hot chocolate.

Podium will be transformed into a Halloween dream-scape during the period the themed afternoon tea is served so guests are sure to feel fully immersed into this spooky season.

The Halloween Afternoon Tea is being served from Thursday 27th October to Sunday 6th November on every Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 12.30 – 6.00pm, last seating 4.30pm.

Afternoon Tea is £39 per person or £49 if served with a glass of Pommery Champagne.
