RÜYA reopens in Mayfair with new pared back menu, Raki list and Anatolian Aperitivo hour to take dinners on a journey through the diverse cuisines of Turkey

Rüya, the Anatolian restaurant, bar and lounge in the heart of London’s Mayfair, will reopen their doors on Thursday 17th September, taking guests on a journey through the rich and diverse history of Anatolian cuisine with a new pared back a la carte menu, an exclusive raki menu, signature cocktail list, and the launch of their new Anatolian Aperitivo Hour.

Rüya meaning ‘dream’ in Turkish, is the vision of Istanbul restaurateur Umut Özkanca. Inspired by the myriad regions of his native Turkey, Rüya offers a fresh take on Turkish cuisine through a contemporary and vibrant, yet refined and sophisticated menu. In partnership with Umut Özkanca, Chef Patron Colin Clague – formerly of Zuma and Caprice Holdings – has created a new pared back menu with a selection of Anatolian inspired dishes that reflect the layers of history and heritage within Turkish culture.

The menu includes mezes from Marmara, Pides from the Black Sea region, olives from the Aegean Sea and kebabs from south eastern Anatolia. Highlights include traditional Aged kasar cheese pide with slow cooked organic egg; Izgara karides with grilled tiger prawns, pickled fennel butter and shaved fennel salad; 24 hour slow cooked short rib in a Turkish chilli BBQ glaze and spiced konya chickpea puree and Adana kebap with spicy minced lamb and burnt tomato.

At the bar, Rüya will offer a new pared back signature cocktail list, created by Head of Bar Francesco Medici, previously of Mr Fogg’s Residence in Mayfair. The drinks list will transport guests through a journey of flavours of all seven regions of the Anatolian Peninsula, with signature classics including the Ottoman Old Fashioned with whisky, tobacco, date syrup and orange; Ruya Negroni with gin, Turkish coffee vermouth and Campari; and the Nazar Sour with cardamom infused vodka, rose syrup, pear, Blue Curacao and Champagne.

The Rüya bar will also offer an exclusive raki menu, featuring over 15 different rakis. Raki, the famous twice distilled grape and anise-scented national spirit of Turkey, is often referred to as ‘Lion’s Milk’, traditionally served mixed with water and consumed with meze in good company. In honor of this tradition, Rüya will be launching an Anatolian Aperitivo Hour, serving complimentary small dishes Isli Patlican – aubergine puree with walnuts, crispy coated aubergine chips; and Borek – filo wrapped feta with carrot, courgette and walnut alongside the signature cocktails and raki. The Anatolian Aperitivo Hour will be between 5-7pm Thursday-Saturday, and available in the restaurant and the Mekan bar to all guests who order a signature cocktail or raki between these times.

To further celebrate their reopening, Rüya will also be taking part in the extended Eat Out to Help Out scheme throughout the month of September. Guests will be able to enjoy 50% off all food and non-alcoholic beverages up to £10 person, every Tuesday and Wednesday from 5:30pm until 21:00pm, and also on Thursday 17th of September to mark their reopening.

Rüya will reopen on Thursday 17th September and also offer their full, new a la carte menu on luxury delivery service Supper London from Tuesday 15th September, bringing Londoners a taste of Rüya to their own homes. Collection and takeaway will also be available via the Rüya website: www.ruyalondon.com
