Klose & Soan launch residencies and ‘At Home’ delivery
Chefs Matt Klose and Sam Soan (Klose & Soan) have returned to the kitchen at Winemakers Deptford and Unwined Waterloo, whilst launching an ‘At Home’ service with seasonally changing menu.
Klose & Soan at Unwined Waterloo has returned after a hugely popular residency in 2019, leading to the chefs now taking over the kitchen helm permanently. The space lends itself to both summer and winter dining, with a striking dining room, based inside old shipping containers, and an al fresco terrace.
The menu is weekly changing, focused on seasonal ingredients. Dishes are pan-European with influences taken from Asian cuisine throughout, available in small plates and larger plates designed for sharing. For example, the current menu features dishes including Sussex chicken leg, olives, orzo, roast San Marzano tomatoes, salsa verde (£14.50) and Imam Biyildi (£12.50), a comforting Ottoman dish of slow-baked aubergines.
Klose & Soan’s unpretentious yet delicious cooking perfectly complements Unwined Waterloo space, with an unmissable selection of wines available alongside the food. The residency runs every Wednesday to Saturday from 4pm to 10pm.
Matt and Sam will also continue to cook as a permanent fixture at Winemakers Deptford every Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The menu is concise yet appealing, with a selection of small dishes such as Smoked pork collar, Szechuan pepper and pickled radish (£8) and Stuffed courgette, basmati rice, ras el hanout, tomato and feta (£8). The menu also changes on a weekly basis, respecting seasonality and utilising whatever is freshly available.
