Pacific to host Australia Day brunch and charity auction in aid of the NSW Rural Fire Services

As the tragic fires continue to burn across Australia, Pacific will be hosting a fundraising Australian barbecue-style brunch on Australia Day, 26th January 2020, 11am – 4pm to raise funds for the NSW Rural Fire Services. A charity auction will also be hosted at Pacific, with 100% of the proceeds from the day being donated to the NSW RFS.

Pacific’s Executive Chef, Shaun Presland, is from one of the affected areas in Australia, and will be cooking up an Australian barbecue inspired feast. As well as serving cocktail-sized Hamburgers and Meat pies, Shaun will cook a variety of dishes on the outdoor barbecue, including Beef steaks with a choice of tomato, yaki naki and wasabi chimichurri sauces, Prawns with garlic shisho butter and Chicken wings with honey soy sesame. There will also be a selection of Australian-inspired desserts available, including a Deconstructed Golden Gaytime (a popular Australian ice cream). Guests are recommended to pre-book on Pacific’s website, or else they can simply turn up and pay the £50 entrance fee which will go directly to the NSW Rural Fire Services. All food is unlimited, but drinks will be charged at normal prices, and there will be live music all day, including singer and pianist, Danny Mills.

There will also be an auction held on the day which will include prizes such as a week’s stay at a luxury beach house in Palm Beach, Sydney (valued at over £18,000), a sushi masterclass with Shaun for 6 people and a bespoke dinner for 6 cooked at the winner’s home (both valued at over £1,000). Pacific will also be adding £2 to every bill throughout January and February which will be donated to NSW’s Rural Fire Services.

Commenting on the brunch, Shaun said: “There isn’t a single Aussie who hasn’t been affected by the ongoing tragedy in Australia. Every penny of the money raised by Pacific will be donated to the outstanding firefighters battling the blazes on the other side of the world. We’d love to have as many people as possible join us at Pacific on 26th January to raise as much money as we can during these difficult times”
