The White Hart at Lydgate selects Action Against Hunger as its Charity of the Year
The White Hart at Lydgate has launched a new charity appeal in aid to raise money for its Charity of the Year, Action Against Hunger.
Located in Lydgate, close to Saddleworth, The White Hart will host a variety of exclusive events and initiatives over the next 12 months, aiming to raise at least £10,000 to help save the lives of malnourished children across the globe.
Ensuring families have access to clean water, food, training and healthcare, Action Against Hunger is a global humanitarian organisation that enables entire communities to be free from hunger. When disaster strikes, the charity launches emergency responses and helps families with the support they need to rebuild their lives.
Owner Charles Brierley said: “The White Hart is delighted to be supporting a charity that makes a real difference to the world and one that with our support, can push for long-term change to world hunger. Earlier this year, the pub hosted an exclusive lunch over Yanks Weekend, raising over £2,400 for the charity and with the help of our customers, we’re hoping to increase this to £10,000 by the end of next year.”
“It costs £42 to provide the right amount of food to save a child’s life and £63 to provide therapeutic food to treat 100 severely malnourished children in one day- for this amount, our customers can enjoy one of our exclusive events whilst helping us raise as much as we can for our chosen charity.”
Ensuring Action Against Hunger receives all funds raised from each event, The White Hart has created a dedicated Just Giving page where customers can donate to the charity directly. To make a donation, please visit https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/25yearparty.
