Wilderness Bar + Kitchen is officially open

Wilderness Bar + Kitchen, a three-storey eating, drinking and lifestyle venue in the Northern Quarter, Manchester is officially open.

A welcoming, relaxed space with a modern approach to flavour, the food and drink menus at Wilderness Bar + Kitchen are informed by seasonality and the best available produce.

The cooking is modern European in style, using produce at its peak, and taking the very best of the season. The kitchen team headed up by James Lord (ex-Manchester House) uses ingredients from the most forward thinking producers to create innovative dishes, cooked over coals.

The drinks menu mirrors the seasons with cocktails that put flavour first, using both traditional and cutting edge techniques. Heading up the bar is Adam Day who has developed a natural menu, pairing house made ingredients, seasonal produce and quality spirits. Wilderness Bar + Kitchen will also offer low ABV cocktails, natural wines and craft beers, carrying though its ethos of treating nature and its products with care and respect.

The ground floor is an engaging all day space, where you can walk straight in or book ahead and enjoy a carefully considered range of beers and house made highball cocktails on tap.

The first floor cocktail bar offers a unique and intimate drinking experience where the bar will take centre stage. The space has been designed to remove barriers between those making the drinks and those enjoying them. A seasonal small plate menu will also be served.

The basement Innovation Room is a creative space for both the chefs and the bartenders to explore new flavours. The table is set within the working kitchen and can also be booked out for private dining, where guests can experience a tasting menu served by the Head Chef.

Mof Gimmers, resident record buyer at sister site Wilderness Record Store, Withington, will be curating the music offering; booking his favourite DJs and playing new releases, classics and vinyl reissues.

This will be the second site (after Wilderness Record Store) operated by the award winning team of Dan Morris – ex Cottonopolis and Trof Group, Mat Lake and Bart Murphy both of Junkyard Golf Club & Bunny Jacksons and Lyndon Higginson from Liars Group, Junkyard & Bunny Jacksons. Higginson has designed and curated the artwork throughout the space.

Open from 11.30am until 12am Sunday – Wednesday, 1am on Thursday and until 2am Friday and Saturday. Food served 12pm – 10pm.
