Served under the Gandiablasco glass pergola

Enjoy the great outdoors as well as unique, unforgettable experiences within one of the Gandia Blasco Group creations, inspired by values that we share with world renowned allies. On this occasion spring arrives early at the Mandarin Oriental, Barcelona with its first pop-up gastronomic event of the year, a multi-sensorial experience in collaboration with the historical house of Champagne Maison Ruinart and GANDIABLASCO to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the hotel. Where? Within the brand’s glass pergola, custom designed for the occasion. The Petit R experience, which up until now could only be to enjoyed at their exclusive Ruinart winery in Reims, is not a typical gastronomic offering; rather an immersive journey through the history and legacy of the Maison Ruinart originally founded in the year 1729, though a series of projected images and animations on the dining table together with music and a live narrative.  An adventure conceived by the chef Carme Ruscalleda of the Mandarin Oriental Moments restaurant.

The GANDIABLASCO glass pergola was installed within the Mimosa Garden of the prestigious Mandarin Oriental Barcelona hotel between April 26th and June 22nd becoming the ideal scenario during those weeks for enjoying the full Ruinart experience. During this immersive performance the walls of the glass pergola were blacked out using shades while the dining plates became the screens for video projections from above created by the Japanese artist Kanako Kumo, telling the story behind the mythical French winery accompanied by a Ruinart wine pairing and tasting menu especially created by Ruscalleda; Oysters with a mild vinaigrette dressing over a frozen empedrat  (Catalan savoury salad), fillet of turbot served with quinoa and endive and a citric sauce, and Challans duck fillet with vegetables and roasted dressing, were amongst the highlights on the menu.

The glass pergola, custom designed for the event, perfectly represented the character of the GANDIABLASCO brand: restrained, elegant, functional, innovative in spirit and a willingness to collaborate with like-minded specific projects like this one by Petit R.
