Meat-free feasting at Radici with Nina Parker and Francesco Mazzei

On Wednesday 5 June and Thursday 16 July, Francesco Mazzei will welcome guest chef Nina Parker to his Islington trattoria, Radici, for a series of vegetarian supper clubs celebrating the food of southern Italy. The duo first worked together at L’Anima, the acclaimed Italian restaurant that Francesco opened in 2008 and where Nina started her culinary career, and they have since hosted a number of popular one-off events and supper clubs together.

Guests are invited to dine in true southern Italian style with a sophisticated meat-free menu, dreamt up by the esteemed pair who have both published cookbooks on the sun-soaked regions. A welcome glass of Ferrari Trento will be served alongside moreish Bruschetta topped with artichoke and Grana Padana pesto and followed by Nettle and chickpea tagliatelle.

The rich Italian classic of Aubergine parmigiana will be the starring main course, accompanied by Deep fried zucchini flower stuffed with lemon ricotta; Asparagus with tarragon butter and a Mixed leaf herb salad with aged balsamic and pickled red onion. For dessert, the pair will be whipping up two tarts: Torta caprese and Black cherry, frangipane spelt tart with vanilla mascarpone.
