Tom Aikens to relaunch Tom’s Kitchen in Chelsea on March 21st

This spring, the highly-acclaimed British chef Tom Aikens will relaunch his flagship Tom’s Kitchen restaurant in Chelsea. Following an extensive refurbishment by B3 Designers, Tom will be introducing an exciting new menu offering seasonal British small plates, perfect to be shared with family and friends.

Tom’s Kitchen Chelsea first opened in 2006 as a contemporary all-day brasserie, serving British favourites and comfort food classics in a relaxed and informal environment. Twelve years on, the restaurant’s exciting renewal will bring a welcoming, modern and comfortable feel to the interiors; the perfect match for Tom’s contemporary British menus.

The new sharing-style menu at Tom’s Kitchen Chelsea will constantly evolve, allowing Tom and his team to make the most of the short seasons of some of Britain’s finest produce, such as asparagus, rhubarb, mushrooms and game. From the menu, small plates such as Beef tartare with black garlic aioli, new season turnips and puffed rice and Salt baked heritage carrots, strained yoghurt and carrot top pesto, will sit alongside larger sharing dishes including Scallops with Fruit Pig black pudding and peas and Spatchcock Norfolk quail with peanut sauce and pickled sweet cucumber relish. Those looking for the comfort food dishes and Tom’s Kitchen classics for which the restaurant is renowned, will also be well catered for with options such as Fish pie with cider, leeks and parsley crumbChicken schnitzel with violet artichoke salad and parmesan; and Seven-hour slow cooked shoulder of lamb with mashed potato and balsamic onions.

Spread over three floors, the restaurant is located in a beautiful Chelsea townhouse. With a rearrangement of the floorplan, following the relaunch, the bar will become a focal point of the restaurant for both counter dining and drinks, whilst relaxed window seating will also be introduced. Both the ground floor and first floor dining rooms will be rejuvenated through the introduction of luxurious upholstery and a richer, darker colour scheme, bringing warmth and cosiness to the space and contrasting to the signature white tile finish and wooden panelling. Meanwhile the third floor of Tom’s Kitchen Chelsea boasts two beautiful rooms for private dining and intimate events.

With a focus on where food comes from and how it is grown, Tom’s Kitchen is dedicated to using UK-based suppliers and local producers, and this will be emphasised in both the new menus and the redesigned space of the Chelsea restaurant. Fresh produce and thought-provoking photography of suppliers will be displayed to tell the story of the seasonal, local and ethically sourced ingredients used across the Tom’s Kitchen menus, and an open pass will allow interaction between the kitchen and the dining room.

Speaking of the relaunch, Tom Aikens said: “I am incredibly proud of everything that we have achieved over the past 12 years at Chelsea. Moving forwards, the redesigned space and new menus will allow the restaurant to be more innovative, modern and comfortable, and I am so excited to welcome back loyal faces from over the years, as well as introducing new guests to all that Tom’s Kitchen has to offer.”
