Hepple Spirits Launches Inaugural Cocktail Competition

Hepple Spirits are delighted to share the news of the launch of its inaugural Cocktail Competition.
Bartenders across the UK are invited to enter their creative spin on a classic gin cocktail using Hepple Gin- whether that be with a unique flavour, technique or ingredient. The competition is split into regional heats in Edinburgh, Manchester, Bristol and London, culminating in the final being held in early June at Hepple’s Northumberland distillery. Finalists will present their creations to a panel of judges made up of well-known industry figures and critically acclaimed drinks writers, followed by the final stage of the competition where they will be tasked with crafting a highball using a range of foraged botanicals from the estate. The winner will receive an all expenses paid trip to Denmark, renowned for its flavours and modern techniques as well as a one-night bar takeover at one of Denmark’s finest establishments. The deadline for entries is midnight 31 March.
Hepple Spirits – a snapshot
Renowned for its pioneering approach to gin making, born in the rugged terrain of Northumberland, Hepple Spirits combines tradition with modern technique. With a mission to create notable spirits while preserving the natural beauty of the Hepple Estate, the team sources ingredients from the local environment before applying them to a triple distillation technique rarely used elsewhere in the industry. The resulted gin is complex and pure, and sits alongside a range of other products that have launched since Hepple’s inception in 2015, including Douglas Fir Vodka (£35), Slow & Hawthorn Gin (£32), Juniper Aged Negroni (£30), and Douglas Fir Sherbet (£12).
Hepple Wilds
The family-owned estate, Hepple Wilds, is the home and inspiration behind the gin. Located in the Northumberland National Park, dedicated to ecological renewal and rewilding, the estate has transitioned from traditional land uses, such as sheep farming and commodity timber, to foster a wilder ecosystem driven by natural processes.
The rugged wildness of the estate, and its ancient juniper trees, has dictated the ethos of the brand from the liquid to the new eco-conscious bottle. A short distance from Newcastle, Hepple invites guests to join them for either a day or overnight stay to experience the distillery, its surroundings and heritage first hand. From the unique Triple Distillation process, there is a guided walk through Northumberland’s National Park with a study of the landscape’s botanical offering, alongside an opportunity to enjoy the gin at its finest.
